| THE ISLE OF WIGHT SEPTEMBER
SCURRY
‘More
fun than a run’
The September Scurry is the Isle
of Wight Sections premier annual event for motorcycles or
three wheelers manufactured before Jan 1931. In addition,
Isle of Wight Section members also take part riding any machine
that is VMCC eligible. The Scurry is an event with the emphasis
on the social side, but with just enough light hearted competitive
elements to provide interest. This event is strictly limited
to 50 pre 31 entries and is sponsored by Wightlink who kindly
provide free ferry travel to mainland entrants.
The event is based at an Isle of Wight
Holiday Centre who offer competitive rates for Camping or
B & B.
The Format is as follows:
Sat: Social Evening & Buffet
Sun: Navigational Run & Motorcycling
Quiz
Mon: Choice of Free day or Social Run
Tue: Organised Day Trip to place of interest
followed by Prize Giving and Finger Buffet
Awards:
‘The Kev Irwin Trophy’ for the winner of the motorcycling
quiz.
‘The Presidents Shield’ for the most desirable
machine as voted by the entrants.
‘The John Hogan Trophy’ for the highest placed
IoW rider taking part in the quiz
‘The Piston Broke Trophy’ for the best hard luck
story of the weekend.
